Différance
NOUN; VERB; ADJECTIVE; ADVERB
1. Well, Derrida says it means difference and deferral of meaning, so you might as well listen to him. Or not. It's really up to you.
2. Words are incomplete until you give them meaning. We’re waiting for you, our submitters, to do exactly that—make a roundabout trip through your childhood, sail across deserted landscapes, write the final chapter of a novel that doesn’t exist... breathe life into words and, by extension, realities.
3. Razzle-dazzle us. We are looking for writing that stupefies with banality or bores with novelty, work that walks the tightrope of non-syllables. We yearn for inhospitable metaphors of land and love and loss and light, sounds that uphold and shatter. We want disillusion and hope, desensitization and delight, nothing and everything, one after the other or everything everywhere all at once.
4. Go on. We’re listening.
Différance Magazine is an online literary platform that publishes young writers of all ages (up to 30 years old) and backgrounds. We request First World Electronic Serial Rights and Non-Exclusive Archival Rights for submitted pieces, which will revert back to the submitter after publication. We open submissions and publish issues on a rolling basis, with preferred deadlines listed.
